GCSE Results 2009
In addition to our most successful year of A Level results we are once again delighted with the achievements of our Year 11 students. Over one hundred of our students are returning to continue their studies in the Sixth Form and can do with great confidence in their achievements.
Some significant individual achievements are worthy of special praise. Both Emma Stewart and Ben Knighton achieved eleven passes at A* and A, Katie Small and Alex Horsfield achieved ten passes at A* and A grades and Ashley Foster also achieved seven A* and A grades in her 15 A* -C passes. The hard work started 3 years ago for many of the students with excellent success in fast tracked courses in Year 9.
We are concerned about the economic environment in which school leavers and graduates find themselves this September but we are confident that our students have given themselves every chance of success. Their achievements are broadly of skills and attributes they can add to their CV’s which have been enhanced through the wide variety of courses and support we offer.
We are again delighted with the large numbers who can boast 5 passes at C and above but are particularly pleased with increased participation and success of students in the nationally less favourable areas of Science and Foreign Languages.
We wish all students the best in their future career decisions and would like to thank all parents and staff for their support in these achievements.
