Dear James,
Although only five, you have probably milked over eighty cows before this photograph will be taken at Southmoor Greenland School. It is important however to note that you will only have to milk another one million and eighty thousand cows before you move into a slightly cleaner profession.
On the fashion front, those home knitted jumpers and mother sculpted hair cuts will only stay with you until your early teens. More reassuringly if this is indeed a comfort, that ginger hair will not recede, if anything, you will get more of it.
Facially, that small perfectly designed nose won’t stay straight for too long, a succession of six breaks playing football will give it an independence from the rest of your face.
Career wise you will maintain those ambitions to be a professional cricketer or footballer right up till your late thirties. They are just pipe dreams and may as well spend your energy on trying harder at school to get yourself a good job and career!
I hope this letter does not dampen your spirit too much there will be many happy times to come and your enjoyment of your school days might make you want to stay!
Ps. Avoid purple in the future, it will continue not to suit you!
